Sponsorship opportunities are available for the 2008 AFS & Kerberos Best Practices Workshop. 

Why should you sponsor the workshop?

• Its an opportunity to communicate directly with system administrators and managers who are responsible for distributed data storage and authentication systems within universities, government agencies, and commercial entities.

  Attendance at the 2008 Workshop is anticipated to be 50 percent higher than in past years with a broader range of participation from corporate entities.

• All profits of the workshop are used to support the administrative infrastructure and development of OpenAFS

How much does it cost?

US$2500.00. In past years, sponsors were asked to host a dinner at a local bar or restaurant, pay for bus transportation, or rent a steamboat as well as pay for their own registration.  As a result the cost varied based upon the number of attendees and was not known until the week of the workshop. To better facilitate planning, this year sponsors are asked to pay a flat rate.

What do you get for your money?

1. Registration for two staff members to attend the Workshop sessions being held Wednesday to Friday.

2. Your logo on the workshop web site with a hyperlink to a custom page on your web site which will be used to describe products, services and special offers of interest to attendees.

3. Your logo will appear on the daily agenda poster boards.

4. One quarter page print advertisement will appear in the workshop handout.

5. Your logo will appear on the back of the conference t-shirt (or other attendee gift.)

6. Your sponsorship will be verbally acknowledged during the workshop.

7. You may provide printed literature and/or DVDs to be distributed to conference attendees as part of the registration packet.

How can you maximize the opportunity?

1. Focus your marketing on products and services that will appeal to the attendees. 

2. Provide attendees a limited time discount if they purchase your services within some number of days or weeks after the workshop ends.

3. Demonstrate your domain expertise by presenting a talk at the workshop.  Talks must not be a direct sales pitches but must have general value.
