| University of Michigan is completely moving away from Kerberos 4 implementation and is setting the stage to turn off DES. This presents number of challenges due to pervasive success of Kerberos at the institution of this size. We will talk about steps we are going through and lessons we have learned in the process. Our focus will be on: scaling issues and coordination of multiple groups that maintain different pieces of computing infrastructure, technical concerns such as dealing with legacy applications, and support issues for users with very old passwords. | |
